This production aims to bring to life the rhythm & blues sound of the late 1940s through the iconic group, The Peppermint Sticks, led by the charismatic and sweet-toothed Candy Johnson. Known for their candy-striped suits and exuberant performances.
This project is a continuation of Lovelane Music Group’s mission to re-introduce timeless songs to a new generation by producing music dramas.

Description: Saxophonist, charismatic, lively, with a stage presence that commands attention. A fondness for sweets is integral to his character—”Candy,” reflecting his love for sugary treats over alcohol.
- Four – The Peppermint Sticks Band Members – Ages: 18-35
Description: Musicians who can capture the 1940s rhythm & blues energy. Experience with jazz, blues, or similar genres is preferred.
Musicians needed:
Electric Guitarist: The guitar provided a rhythmic undercurrent, featuring riffs typical of early R&B. Brands like Gibson and Epiphone were popular at the time.
Upright Bassist: The deep, steady pulse of the upright bass anchored the groove. In 1948, acoustic basses from companies like Kay were standard.
Drummer: The drum kit, likely from Ludwig or Gretsch, delivered the drive and energy that propelled the track forward.
Pianist: A Steinway or Baldwin piano added harmonic richness to the mix, accentuating the upbeat rhythms.
